Stores engineered to sell, load fast and rank

    E-commerce Website Development

An online store is three systems pretending to be one: a catalogue, a checkout and a search-visible content layer. Most builds get the first two right and treat the third as an afterthought. I build stores where product architecture, performance and technical SEO are decided together, on Shopify, WooCommerce or a custom Laravel stack.

    Problems I Solve

Symptoms this engagement is built to fix

Product and collection URLs that duplicate the same item across several crawlable paths.

Faceted filters generating unlimited indexable combinations and burning crawl budget.

Checkouts that lose conversions to slow third-party scripts and layout shift.

Product schema that contradicts the price and availability shown on the page.

Replatform projects that drop rankings because URLs were never mapped.

Catalogues that become unmanageable past a few thousand SKUs.

    Choosing the right platform, honestly

Shopify is the fastest path to a reliable store when your catalogue fits its data model and you can live with its URL conventions. WooCommerce wins when you already run WordPress content and need deep customisation of pricing, bundles or B2B rules. A custom Laravel build makes sense when your commercial logic — quoting, contracts, ERP-driven stock, multi-tenant pricing — is the product itself and no plugin ecosystem models it cleanly. I will tell you which of the three fits before we scope anything, including when the honest answer is that your current platform is fine and only needs work.

Catalogue architecture decides your SEO ceiling

Before any template is built, the catalogue structure is designed: which attributes become variants and which become separate products, which filter combinations deserve real indexable landing pages, how collections nest, and what the canonical path of every product is. This one decision determines whether you can rank for category and attribute-level queries later, or whether you will spend years fighting duplication. It also determines how internal links flow — from collections to products, from products to related items, and from content pages into commercial pages.

    Performance where it converts

Store speed matters most on the two templates that carry revenue: category listings and product detail pages. I build them with server-rendered content, correctly sized and lazily loaded imagery, deferred third-party scripts, and reserved space for anything that loads late. Apps and pixels are audited for what they cost, and tracking is consolidated so analytics does not become the heaviest thing on the page. Targets are set against real-user field data, not a lab score taken once on a fast connection.

    Migrations without losing rankings

Replatforming is where most e-commerce traffic disappears. Every existing URL — products, collections, blog posts, filtered views that earned links — is inventoried and mapped to its replacement before launch. Redirects are one-hop, structured data and internal links are updated to the new canonical paths, and the launch is followed by a crawl-and-monitor period so anything unmapped is caught in days rather than quarters.

    Illustrative Engagement

    A representative scenario

    The problem

A mid-size retailer's replatform proposal kept the old filter URLs, which had produced tens of thousands of indexable combinations on the previous store.

    The approach

Facet policy was decided first: a small set of commercially valuable filter views became real landing pages, the rest were made non-indexable and non-crawlable, and internal links pointed only at canonical paths.

    The outcome

The new store launched with a crawlable URL set close to the real product count, and category pages stopped competing with parameterised duplicates.

Composite scenario based on typical engagements. Replace with a real, attributed case study once published.
